"Relationship matters because our brains are inherently social, and therefore are wired to interact with other brains. It's through these interactions that growth and change occur. In other words, we can't not be affected by others. In all close relationships, whether it's between lovers, a parent and a child, or even a therapist and patient, we affect each other's emotions, beliefs and behaviors. When we fully appreciate the power of relationship, we can not only better see the value others have in our lives, but how we can benefit those around us."
